You can call me magpie

Now bling has never really been my thing, but I am loving everything gold at the moment. Gold jewellery, gold nail polish, gold shoes, and the list goes on and on. I don't know why it has taken me this long to embrace its warm tones and grandeur, but I have rediscovered the beauty of gold.

Shoes: Top Shop; Nail polish: Rococo Nail Apparel (Gold Leaf  Nail Varnish);
Jewellery: Oasis and Top Shop; Candle holder: Oliver Bonas;
Book: F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby (Penguin Classics)

I am continuously drawn to chunky gold rings and bracelets like a kid hovering around a candy shop wanting one of everything. I seek them out like a warm sunset, candlelight, or loose pound coins at the bottom of my purse in order to buy my morning latte..

My favourite newly purchased gold embellished item is my pair of gold studded slippers from Top Shop. We went on a long walk the other day by the river. And who could blame us? The weather has been so lovely lately.

I think it's time to put away the boots until autumn. Don't you?

Denim Shirt, 3 Ways

The denim shirt has become a good friend of mine. So surprisingly versatile, making it easy to forget how casual it actually is.

My favourite denim shirt from GAP

As I tend to stay away from double denim, I've been dressing it up and down by substituting it for a blouse under a blazer, softening it up with a lace vest, or just wearing it as a jacket over colourful dresses and tights. Here are a few examples of how I wear this wardrobe staple and comfortable companion:

Outfit 1

Trousers: United Colors of Benetton; Vest: Pinky; Ring: Top Shop

Outfit 2

Dress: Miss Selfridge; Tights: Top Shop; Belt: Zara; Shoes: New Look; Jewellery: Top Shop and Oasis

Outfit 3

Blazer: GAP; Skirt: yaya collection; Shoes: New Look; Jewellery: Top Shop and Oasis

A special thank you to the lovely Ruby Randolph for taking these photos. You can find her beautiful blog here: Rogue Ruby

Hello world! Hello wardrobe!

Spring awakens something in all of us. Just go outside and tell me that the sun has no effect on you. You see? Impossible! For me, it has made me want to rekindle my relationship with my wardrobe.

As with most relationships, we have been through it all... The first encounter  when I brushed up against you in a shop and knew I'd have to take you home. The first date when I took you out to my favourite cafe and you complimented my brown leather boots. I got angry with you when you made me feel fat even though I knew that it was all in my head. I have neglected you out of laziness. But you know that I can't live without you, because you excite me, you're soft as cotton, smooth as silk, and as warm as wool. And although I have been impulsive at times, I took care in choosing you.  Enough is enough! It's time to fall in love again...WITH MY WARDROBE.
